Open 365 days a year from 7 am to 3:30 pm, the Diamond Head Visitor Center is located within Diamond Head crater. In partnership with Pacific Historic Parks, state park officials offer exclusive tours and merchandise at the center. The visitor center is the starting point of the Diamond Head trail, a 0.8-mile hike to the summit of Diamond Head.
At the top, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach. Guided tours are offered for those who don't feel comfortable or confident enough to make the climb on their own. The Visitor Center also sells tickets to the Diamond Head Lighthouse, located at the summit of the crater.
The Visitor Center offers a variety of educational programs and activities throughout the year, including stargazing events and special presentations by park rangers. Special themed tours are offered seasonally, such as the popular full moon hikes. Visitors can also purchase souvenirs and educational resources at the center.
